These instructions work with my installation of Linux Mint 20.2 and may have to be adapated for other distributions. I have only tested it on my machine so you use the script at your own risk. The instructions assume you have installed Dangerouse Waters and Wine (which Steam's Proton may do for you -- not sure) but not LwAmi v3.11.

I have no plans to update or maintain this script, so not only do I release it to the public domain, I encourage others to modify it and make it better. Please feel free to modify, use, copy, and distribute this as you will.

I am usVandal in the subsim.com forums.

1. Navigate to your Dangerous Waters install folder.
   a. In Steam you can right click on Dangerous Waters in your library list and select Manage > Browse Local Files and this should open up your file manager and take you to the Dangerous Waters folder.

2. Copy the Dangerous Waters folder (in case something goes wrong you can recover).
   a. To do this with your file manager simply navigate to the parent folder, highlight the Dangerous Waters folder then press [Ctrl] + [C] then [Ctrl] + [V].

3. Extract Mods folder from LwAmi_3_11_Complete.zip into the Dangerous Waters folder.
   a. Navigate back into the Dangerous Waters folder.
   b. From the file manager top menu select File > New Window.
   c. Separate the windows so you can see both.
   d. In one of the windows navigate to where you downloaded LwAmi_3_11_Complete.zip (usually your ~/Downloads folder).
   e. Double click on the .zip file to see the contents.
   f. Double click on LwAmi_3_11_Complete in the archive to view its contents.
   g. Select the Mods folder and copy it to the Dangerous Waters folder (you do not need JSGME unless you are going to try and get that to work -- I think it's possible but you need to know a bit about Wine to get it to work.)

4. Navigate into the ../Dangerous Waters/Mods/LwAmi_Mod/FileTools folder. Here you should see the InstallStuff.bat file, CMPUTIL.exe, decompress.exe, and DWEdit.exe.
   a. Copy the lwami.linux.sh file into this folder.
   b. Open up a terminal in this folder which can be done by right-clicking in the file manager window and selecting "Open in Terminal" from the context menu.
   c. Type "sh lwami.linux.sh" (without the quotes into the terminal and press the [Enter] key.
   d. Let the script run (if it doesn't you may need to modify its file permissions allowing it to execute).
   e. Check the output for any "errors" or "args" messages.
